Logistics Management Specialist

Major duties and responsibilities include:
Collaborates with leadership in developing supply chain management strategies; Serves as an integrator and/or facilitator for supply chain management customers; Ensures all SCM personnel and equipment for the Emergency Medical Response Team (EMRT) are prepared accordingly; Identifies and prepares all assigned personnel and equipment for deployment during simulated and actual emergency response exercises(i.e. training, planning and controlling movement); Develops logistics and supply chain management training opportunities; Analyzes the effectiveness of logistics and vendor support services; Recommends changes to procurement actions such as quantity increases, cancellations, cutbacks, delivery rates and ordering periods; Resolves logistics, supply, distribution, information and service problems; Identifies changes to governing regulations and conflicting directives; Monitors computer programs, software and hardware to determine efficiency in meeting supply requirements; Provides technical assistance in the areas of logistics planning, integration support and requirements; Provides administrative and technical oversight to lower-graded specialist; Performs other related duties as assigned. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note:

Qualifications:
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal Service, that is directly related to the work of the position and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties as a Logistics Management Specialist. Specialized experience includes, serving as a team lead or senior specialist in supply chain management, assisting with the direction and control of logistics planning; analyze product delivery or supply chain processes to identify or recommend changes; performing data analysis, and statistical analysis to identify improvement opportunities. This position requires some degree of specialized knowledge and experience of logistics support activities in areas of acquisition management, purchasing, transportation, distribution, inventory management and control, expendable and non-expendable equipment, and warehouse operations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note:
A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The work is primarily sedentary although some slight physical effort may be required. Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate controlled office. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
