Program Support Assistant

The incumbent will facilitate the employment process by initiating and reviewing employment background checks (these include Special Agency Checks SACs , NACI, MBI, and BI Investigations) and will assist in the adjudication of investigations that reveal possible suitability issues and/or findings contradictory to the employee's documentation in e-Quip and/or on the employment application. In addition, he/she lends administrative support to Public Safety Service as needed. The incumbents main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Operates and administers the employee identification system including fingerprinting, photographing, and card production; Completes forms that support proper identification; Annotates every security update in the Suitability Database; Reviews results from background investigations, documenting clearance; and Develops and reviews tracking mechanisms for purposes of follow-up and monitoring. The incumbent at times may have to cover both the East Orange and Lyons campuses based on the facility's needs. Work Schedule:

Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-5) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
providing administrative assistant duties; performing data entry for tracking purposes; developing and reviewing tracking mechanisms for purposes of follow-up and monitoring; typing and routing correspondence, memos, and other documents needing approval and/or signature; handling external and internal contacts with courtesy, timeliness, and tact. Work is sedentary with occasional physical activity such as walking, bending and stooping. Normally, work is performed in the Public Safety Service, but certain assignments may require the employee to be in other areas throughout the Medical Center. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
