Physician (Medical Officer of the Day)

The Physician-Medical Officer of the Day (MOD) is responsible for the overall professional decision-making and uses clinical judgment in the examination and treatment of all Department of Veterans Affairs beneficiaries at this Medical Center during Weekend, Holidays, Evening and Night (WHEN) hours. The MOD is a member of an integrated partnership with the Administrative Officer of the Day (AOD) the Psychiatric Officer of the Day (POD) and the Nurse Officer on Duty (NOD). Work Schedule:
Intermittent, Weekends, Holidays, Evening and Night hours. The MOD will be expected to cover at least one weekend a month, but are also expected to cover a minimum of two tours per month. Financial Disclosure Report:

United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Physical requirements outlined below. Reference:

Work is mostly sedentary in nature. Work requires moderate lifting, walking, bending, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
